FROGMEN, FORMER PIT EMPTIERS TRAINED IN NEW WAYS OF TOILET EMPTYING, MALAWI

Frogmen, former pit emptiers, aspiring pit emptiers are undergoing a three-day training on Market Based Sanitation Implementation Approach.

As part of capacity building RSS was engaged to train 20 people in the business of emptying pit latrines and use of safe pit emptying equipment the Gulper,  both Blantyre and Lilongwe, Malawi.  

 More than 20 pit emptiers attended the trainings which covered technical aspects of toilet emptying, standard operating procedures for safe pit emptying, safety and health of pit emptying and pit emptying quality assurance. 

The aim is to ensure pit emptiers provide desirable toilet emptying services to households in target communities, while improving sanitation standards both at household and institution level.

It also aim to improve health and safety of pit emptier as well as safe methods of pit emptying.
